With the Participation of Engineers from “Itech Plus” – Ras Al Khaimah Public Resources Authority Concludes the Second Training Course for Service Providers on the “Himaya” System

On Thursday, April 14, 2016, the Public Resources Authority of Ras Al Khaimah concluded the second training course for engineers and technicians working with service providers on the Technical Systems Security Law (Himaya System). The course was held at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of H.E. Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, President of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, and H.E. Yahya Jaber Al Shamsi, Acting Director General of the Public Resources Authority.

Al Shamsi explained that the completion of this second course, held just about a month after the graduation of the first batch, is clear evidence of its outstanding success. These courses are part of a continuous series designed for service providers. Around 24 engineers and technicians participated in this second course, which lasted three consecutive days. They received numerous technical, legal, and security lectures in the field of installing surveillance equipment and closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, including key requirements on proper installation, safeguarding the confidentiality of storage unit contents, and conducting regular maintenance of installed devices.

The course was delivered by a group of specialized lecturers from both inside and outside the American University. Al Shamsi noted that all participants successfully passed the assessments prepared by the university and therefore earned certificates issued by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah and accredited by the Public Resources Authority. With these certifications, they are now recognized as accredited engineers and technicians authorized to begin installing CCTV systems under the Himaya framework.

He further confirmed that the third training course for service providers would be held the following Monday, granting them the necessary licenses to practice CCTV installation and work within the Himaya system. He emphasized that the first and second training courses have been highly successful in training and educating engineers and technicians in this vital field.

In conclusion, H.E. Yahya Al Shamsi extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the American University of Ras Al Khaimah for their notable cooperation in hosting and contributing to the delivery of this course. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts between all government and private institutions and entities in the Emirate to effectively implement the Himaya system on the ground, in order to achieve all of its intended objectives.
